Treatment

Offering individual therapy specialized in treating the following:

Anxiety

Anxiety can be debilitating and impact many areas of your life. Through therapy, we will work together to identify the root causes of your anxiety and develop effective coping strategies to manage and reduce symptoms.

Depression

Depression can make it difficult to enjoy life and engage in daily activities. I provide a supportive and compassionate space to explore the underlying causes of your depression and develop personalized treatment plans to help you feel better.

Trauma

Trauma can have a profound impact on a person's life, but it's important to know that healing is possible. Treating trauma can be a complex process, but it's important to know that there are effective treatments available through trauma-informed care. I am EMDR-trained and can help individuals process their experiences and develop coping skills to move forward.

Substance Addiction

Substance addiction can lead to a range of negative consequences, including physical and mental health problems, relationship issues, and legal troubles. It is important to seek help if you or someone you know is struggling with substance use. I am a firm believer that self-medicating on substances is a form of a coping skill (not the healthiest one) that one utilizes to escape, numb, and/or avoid something.

LGBTQIA+

Individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ often face unique challenges and experiences that can impact their mental health. Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to explore these issues and work towards greater self-acceptance and well-being. Some common topics addressed in therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals include coming out, navigating relationships and family dynamics, and coping with discrimination and stigma.

Cultural Issues

Treating cultural issues requires a deep understanding of the cultural context and the unique experiences of the individuals affected. It involves utilizing culturally sensitive approaches to therapy. I recognize and respect the beliefs, perspectives, and values of my own & other cultures. I am always learning to acknowledge and appreciate the similarities and differences among various cultures. With the right tools and techniques, it is possible to help individuals and communities overcome the effects of cultural trauma (such as intergenerational/diaspora trauma) and move towards a brighter future.
